History, Mission, & Accreditation

St. Joseph’s Regional Catholic School is a regional Catholic school rooted in Gospel values and is committed to excellence in education. St. Joseph’s Regional Catholic School is supported by the parishes of St. Hugh of Grenoble, St. Nicholas and St. Joseph. In 2014 we celebrated our 50th Anniversary!

MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of St. Joseph’s Regional Catholic School is to cooperate with families, who are the primary educators, in developing the whole child in the Catholic Christian faith. With Christ and his teaching as our foundation, we create an environment of prayer (ora), study (stude), work (labora) and play (lude) providing each child with the opportunity to grow in all areas of his or her life.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
“Let it be known to all who enter here that Jesus Christ is the reason for this school, the unseen but ever-present teacher in all its classes, the model of its faculty and staff, and the inspiration for its students.”

WE BELIEVE
  • Every child is created in the image and likeness of Jesus Christ and deserves respect regardless of individual differences.
  • Every student deserves academic success; it is St. Joseph’s Regional Catholic School’s mission to provide a Catholic education that meets the educational needs of all students.
  • Student participation in service to others creates an active faith community and teaches social responsibility.
  • Every child deserves a safe learning environment.
  • Parents are the primary educators of their children.  Teachers and parents are partners in the educational process.
  • Through worship and study of scripture, St. Joseph’s Regional Catholic School celebrates the relationship between God and our faith community.
  • Our standards-based curriculum, combined with innovative instruction, leads to higher individual achievement and academic excellence.

St. Joseph’s Regional Catholic School is fully accredited by AdvancED with the Southern Association                                                               of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.

What Our Parents Are Saying

I LOVE this school! I have a 5th grader and a 6th grader who both started at St. Joseph's in Kindergarten. The staff is amazing - they all treat the students like their extended family. The middle school team is just that... a TEAM who works together to ensure the students are well prepared for High School. They are aware of tests, quizzes and papers that other teachers have assigned and they take care to make sure the students are working to their full potential but are not overloaded. I love many of the community building events St. Joseph's has every year - a crab feast in the fall, a 5K and one mile fun run, monthly basket bingo nights, pasta dinners and a Multicultural Pot Luck Night in the spring! I can't say enough positive about the school. If you are looking for a quality education for your child in a small, personal class setting, you should set up an appointment to visit the school...you won't be disappointed!
